The beginning of an ENORMOUS franchise, and my second favorite game on the NES. The gameplay is the same as the other games in the series aside from the lack of charge beam and the slide move. Classic set of bosses, and the difficulty is pretty high up there. Excellent stages and classic music are a huge part of this game's greatness as they are consistently as impressive as they are nostalgic. Not as large-scale and refined as Mega Man 2 (Often considered the greatest of the original series) but wonderful nevertheless. (owned on Anniversary Collection, completed, Accurate score is 8.00)
